A personal website gives me the freedom to be creative.
When I started creating a personal website, i gave myself the opportunity to get my creative juices flowing. Creativity is often defined as the ability to generate new and useful ideas. But it’s not just the ability to paint a picture or create music.
Whether I’m talking about my bio, my articles or the layout i’ve chosen, my personality will shine through my own corner of the Internet. Every single detail/element of my site speaks volumes about who I am both as an individual and a professional, so I make sure I use it to my advantage. There’s no better way to kick up your creativity a notch than by creating a personal professional website.
The first blogs started were really online journals, and in all likelihood, sharing my journey, exiting new things about myself and being the best I can be in everything I do. Since blogs have evolved, and now people blog for many different reasons, there are many distinctions among types of blogs – business, lifestyle, fashion, food, and entertainment blogs, among others.
I use it as an alternative to keeping a diary or journal. Journaling provides me with a venue to share my creativity idras, goals, and sharing the successes of those goals attained. Top brands and businesses create blogs to educate their customers, share news, and reach a wider audience. That is another reason why I have created my own personal blog website. Tone Man’s Blog.
While the blogging scene has developed over the last decade, the benefits of blogging are very real. Here’s a list of reasons why I blog and how blogging has benefited my personal and professional life.
Express Myself and Share My Passions
My blog serves as a platform for me to voice my ideas, thoughts, and feelings. Whether my passion is running, traveling, entertaining. sales, consulting, business, personal finance, cooking, politics, photography, or marketing, blogging gives me the opportunity to connect and network with like minded individuals who share the same passions.
Make A Difference
My passions lean toward inspiring, petsonal develooment and growth, challenges, or supporting a cause of interest within myself and others. Whether it’s a personal, professional or social intetest, a blog has been a great way for me to learn, build awareness and garner support.
Share My Knowledge
If you’re someone like me who loves to learn, share, or teach, starting a blog has provided me the opportunity to educate myself and others interested in my field of dreams, wonder, or even new experiences. The best part is that, as I build resources on my blog to track my learning experiences or share and teach others, I have realized there is a chance to grow, learn, and build a better self or others through a blog by creating educational resources or services online.
Refine My Writing Skills
The more I write, the better I become at it. I am not a professional blogger who writes on a regular basis but do more and more enjoy it, and therefore analyze and proofread my writing constantly. I may even get feedback from readers to help me become a better writer.
However, being a good writer is not a prerequisite for the success in my blog. As a blogger, I self-proclaim that I am not that good of a writer, and part of my success could be attributed to my message of “If I can do it, so can you”.
Build My Professional Network
Blogging is a community-based endeavor, and networking is one reason I engage in it. Whether I am a solopreneur or blogging to market my business successes, building relationships will facilitate my blog’s growth.
Meanwhile, growing my online network has its own side benefits, such as gaining access to valuable software and tools, seminars, workshops, product unveilings, and other events but also a testimony to my experiential learning as a journal.
Earn More Exposure
Creating my blog has expanded my online presence, connecting with people I may never have met in person, making new friends, and connecting with potential customers in my sales career. To promote my brand in a positive conversation, and even generate online awareness.
Beyond the immediate results, i use content marketing to rank my posts in search engines, thereby generating residual leads and viewer and readership.
Become an Authority in My Industry
This blog is utilized as a platform to showcase my knowledge and expertise. Publishing blog posts that are accurate, timely, relevant, and informative will eventually get the attention of interested persons and share a commonality and eventually a bond as a source and thought-leader.
Build an Online Portfolio
Blogging is a great way for me an aspiring author and freelance writer to build up an online portfolio. By showcasing my writing skills on large platforms with expansive reach, I can grow my exposure and gain new clients.
Market My Business
As for myself, for companies and entrepreneurs, gaining online visibility. I understand that it is one of the best ways to grow subscribers, leads and ultimately referals, and even revenue. This can’t be achieved with a static corporate website. Creating blog content that is valuable, helpful, and/or entertaining is an effective way to grow my website’s authority, online rankings, and traffic.
Starting A Blog Today
As the internet and technology become more ingrained in our day-to-day lives, the benefits of blogging or building a website become impossible for me to just ignore. However, I am very thankful in the early days, I learned computer science, programming, development and design knowledge skills, and as a sales profession became very intrigued in selling things that stimulayed personal knowledge, wisdom, and growth. It has been an amazing reflection and learning tool for me to gain confidence, knowledge and to help others.
