A friend’s mother-in-law canned elderberries and gave me a number of jars. When I was married, I liked to make pies for the kids in early winter. I’ve always thought elderberries a bit gravelly because of the seeds. I might have been prejudiced because when I was young Mother made me help pick the pretty little berries off the stems. Yes. I love making pies and I’m a guy.
